“From the minute I spoke with Big T he arranged for one of his men to come and give me a price for a whole new floor. I had suffered a flood so it all had to be ripped out and started again. They also priced me for the decorating and other little jobs which were required as part of the flooring. The workers came and they were exceptional. They replaced my floor within 2 days, a brilliant job. They made me aware of a serious leak that I was not aware of, they fixed this and tbh it was a very difficult job. These terms apply to any quote, job or work carried out by Big T's Property Transformation Services Ltd (company number 17240449, "we", "us", "our"). By requesting a quote or accepting a job with us, you ("the customer") agree to these terms.
Quotes are given based on the information and access provided at the time. Prices may need to be revised if, once work has started, we find hidden issues that couldn't reasonably have been seen beforehand (for example damp, unsound structure, old or non-standard wiring/plumbing, or asbestos). Where this happens we'll explain the issue and agree any extra cost with you before continuing that part of the work.
We take a 5% deposit of the job value to secure your booking into our next available date, along with materials and scheduling. The deposit is non-refundable once materials have been ordered or a start date has been reserved on our schedule, except where we are unable to carry out the work. The remaining balance is paid in instalments as the job progresses, with the payment schedule agreed with you before work begins, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Late payment may incur reasonable interest and administration costs, and we reserve the right to pause further work until overdue payment is received.
Any changes to the agreed job — extra work, upgraded materials, or a change of mind on specification — will be priced separately and agreed with you before we carry it out.
You agree to provide safe and reasonable access to the property, and to make sure the work area is clear unless we've agreed to clear it as part of the job. Any necessary permissions (planning permission, building regulations sign-off, landlord or neighbour/party wall consent) are the customer's responsibility unless we've specifically agreed in writing to arrange these on your behalf.
If you need to cancel or postpone a booked job, please give us as much notice as possible. Cancellations made once materials have been ordered or within 48 hours of the agreed start date may result in the loss of your deposit to cover costs already incurred.
We carry out all work to a good trade standard. Where materials carry a manufacturer's warranty, this is passed on to you. We are not responsible for pre-existing defects, wear and tear, or issues arising from work carried out by others before or after our involvement.
Our liability is limited to remedying defective work carried out by us. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
We may take before/after photos of completed work for our own records, website and social media. We won't show your house number, name or exact address, and you're welcome to let us know if you'd prefer your job isn't used this way.
If you're unhappy with any part of the work, please contact us as soon as possible so we can put things right. We aim to respond to any concern within 1–6 hours and resolve issues promptly and fairly.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
